Point Set Registration for Target Localization Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

The problem of point set registration (PSR) on images obtained using a group unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is addressed in this article. UAVs are given flight plan each, which they execute autonomously. A consists series GPS coordinates and altitudes that indicate where the UAV stops hovers momentarily to capture an image stationary targets ground. PSR algorithm proposed that, any two corresponding altitude, estimates overlap between images, identifies overlapping area, matches these according geometric patterns form. considering error UAVs’ locations due wind, it differentiates similar geometrical by their location. evaluated percentage area matched correctly correctly. target-matching rate achieved only varied from 44% 55% for target densities 6.4 down 3.2 targets/m 2 . rates 48% 87%. Well-known algorithms lower average.
